Birthday outfits!

I thought I would share my various birthday outfits with you guys given I did 3 outfit changes because I'm fabulous like that...not! I got in at 5am on Saturday after the celebrations (see this post) so technically I started my birthday in one outfit, and then changed into another for a bbq and then yet another for dinner. So here goes!
Party girl
I only have this half decent photo of me in the dress. I was too busy having fun to take pics ha!
Dress - Jovonna, Necklace - nicked from my sister

BBQ princess
I mentioned I got in at 5am and then my sister (bless her heart!) came and sang "Happy Birthday" to me at 10.46am. I tried not to be ungrateful but truly I was dazed! Then all too soon, it was time to get up and get ready for a bbq with some church friends. Grace had done so well on Friday night with my sideswept frohawk and side braid so I decided to put her in a frohawk for my birthday. Here she is below in all her glory.

I love this scarf so much, it's so cute, if I do say so myself!
Top - Zara, Shorts - H&M, Scarf - Bimba y Lola, Bangles - gifts, from friends and family, Bag - Coach (Willis), Espadrilles - River Island.

Glamour puss
Got back from bbq to make a quick outfit change for my family friend's graduation dinner at Tom's Kitchen in Somerset House.

Grace doing the most! So fierce!

Dress - Sandro, Necklace - Ann Taylor, Wedges - H&M, Clutch - Elaine Turner, Cuff - picked up at London Fashion Weekend, Earrings - New Look

Birthday celebrations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was my birthday on Saturday and it was a full weekend of celebrations! Started on Friday night with dinner and dancing. Dinner was at Moro in Exmouth Market. The cuisine is Spanish/North African, and quite different but yummy too.
Seared pigeon and caramelized fig salad - very yummy!
Wood roasted pork with potatoes, peas, anise and churrasco sauce
Charcoal grilled bream with warm  samphire and cucumber salad, spiced labneh and farika
Party people!

It was so much fun, I had an amazing time. After dinner, we were off for a boogie! I was having so much fun, I didn't want to leave. I only left because I saw my friends walking out with my bags hahahaha!

I had to be dragged off the dancefloor in the end, too much fun was being had ha! Love my friends, love my family, such a wonderful birthday!

Will share my birthday outfits in an upcoming post. Laters!

Grace's 7-day twistout

Hi all

It has been an awesome week with Grace, she has been so good I have to share. Started with last week Sunday at Love Supreme. I had flat twisted my hair the night before and put it in perm rods so I would have curly ends.
Had just taken out the perm rods from my flat twists

All twisted out at Love Supreme
I followed my normal night time routine (details posted here) for the first couple of nights (Sunday - Tuesday. But then I got a bit lazy on Wednesday after getting back late from my work summer party, and I couldn't find it in me to twist Grace so I just slapped on my satin cap and went to sleep. No spray, no sealing, nothing. Naughty Bids! But Grace was not about to let me ruin her show, no sirree! She showed out on Thursday with a solid Day 5 twistout, and I was just in awe. I made up my mind to be better on Thursday and twist my hair before I went to sleep, but alas got in late again and went to bed without spraying, sealing, nothing. Friday, Day 6, Grace showed out again!
Friday - Day 6 Hair
Please ignore my panicked expression. I've decided that's just my standard photo expression.

Check out Gracie! I'm so proud of her. I mean yes, she's a bit fuzzy in places, but that just gives her character in my opinion. And it's Day 6!!!!

At this point, I'm thinking that I won't jinx this and will just wash my hair and re-twist first thing Saturday morning. But then since I didn't get to bed till 6am (shout out to Bunmi and Joyce!), that idea quickly went out of the window. I ended up rocking the curls for another day and Gracie still did her thing, even when I still refused to spray, seal or just be a generally good hair partner! Was well chuffed with her!

Day 7 curls in the sunshine!

You'll be happy to hear that I'm back to being a good hair partner and have washed, deep-conditioned and re-twisted Grace. I'm going for another week of twistouts, let's see how I go this week. I'll try and take pics everyday and report back on my progress. Here's hoping!!
